2006 Backdraft Cobra
This "Black Beast" Backdraft Cobra is an extremely rare opportunity to own a one off unique Cobra recreation in the UK.
Manufactured by Backdraft Racing in South Africa this is a factory built car with a custom designed and built chassis and fully independant suspension. This car must not be mistaken for a UK built car on a Jaguar donor chassis.

This particular car is a 2006 model and has a new V5c having recently arrived in the UK. The car is powered by a Chevy 5. 7L V8 developing circa 300bhp driving the rear wheels through a 5 speed gearbox.
The car is in excellent condition mechanically having had been fully inspected at Backdraft Racing in Durban prior to export. Backdraft advise the car had covered 4800 kms fron new prior to the speedo being changed by them to mph. A recent service was also carried out at Le Mans Classics on arrival here in UK prior to new MOT and V5c being issued.
Body wise the condition is very good with minor age related small stone chips and marks consitant with a car of its age.
The Cobra features a full Retro mod "Blackout Kit" with LED headlights giving it a fully contemporary 21st Century look.
Interior is unmarked post box red leather with 4 point harnesses, and VDO style black guages.
The soundtrack from the Chevy small block engine has to be heard to be appreciated... the custom build side pipes provide a truly awesome V8 roar.
This car is not for the faint hearted... there is no ABS and no traction control... this is a raw and totally visceral "old skool" automotive experience.
Backdraft Cobras new sell for crica USD 130, 000 and beyond depending on specifications. Most new builds go to the US and it is extremly rare to find an original right hand version here in the UK.
