Description
This 1947 Ford was raced on the US Oval circuits mainly by the American race driver Billy Earl from the 1950s to the 2000s. This car was raced on many circuits over the years and I think with many modifications made over the years as it is now fitted with a Ford V8. I have several photos in the history file including one from December 2004 when Billy Earl won the last race held at the infamous Jungle Park Raceway. I also have a photo of Billy Earl in the car.
This car was also invited to be exhibited at the 100th Goodwood Breakfast club meeting where it was shown in the Americana section and received a lot of interest. Also received a nice mention on the Goodwood web page.
It is UK road registered and takes some driving!! I have recently had made and fitted new custom stainless steel exhausts in an attempt to get the noise level down to Goodwood circuit requirements. I still retain the original side exhausts. I also had made a new stainless steel fuel tank and retain the original.
I sadly realise that I am too old to drive this beast and its time to let someone else have fun. You will not see another like it on the UK roads and you will have to be prepared for the inevitable interest from enthusiasts.
