Since 2006 I have gradually improved this car by fitting Aero heated seats and bodykit. Installing a NEW Mitsubishi Saabflight Hybrid Td04 at 75k miles with a 3" JT Exhaust System. Green Giant 500cc injectors. Saabflight Naughty 9000 ECU and a . 3 bar Map Sensor. Peak power on a rolling road was 340bhp. A custom polished stainless steel wide bore induction pipe helps the engine breath better. A longer legged gearbox has also been fitted. The suspension has Abbott Racing Road Springs with Koni Adjustable Dampers, coupled with SAS 1" dia anti roll bars to give sure footed handling. Together with polybushed suspension and over braided brake lines to give a positive feel to the drive. Finally a set of Azev 'A' 17" wheels newly shod with Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres.
This is now a true Drivers Car, and as I am now 70 with sciatic problems it doesn't suit. So, regretfully I have to pass it on to another enthusiast.
I will happily get a fresh MOT for the new owner. This car still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. It's just so willing to get up and go.
I read recently that in the early years of Saab 9000 production a Saab Director specified an Aero model in this colour with the old style spoiler like my car.
For information, the strut brace has been removed as it did not improve the handling.
This car has been created from a standard 1995 CSE 2. 0t and all work has been carried out in the Saabflight Workshop overseen by David Greenwood.
