- We purchased the car in January 2018
- The vehicle was imported from Japan in April 1999
- Service history from April 1999 onwards (2nd owner)
- 56, 344 km noted on 20th April 1999 MOT certificate
- Current MOT runs to 11th June 2025
- Last service performed on 5th July 2024
- A new roof fitted by MX5 specialists (Pevensey, East Sussex) in 2019
In October 2022, the car was involved in an accident - I was t-boned on the off-side rear at low speed and the car was classed as a Cat S write-off as it was deemed uneconomical to repair. Due to the emotional family attachment, we bought it from the insurance company and we got the following done:-
- replacement off-side rear suspension parts and wheel hub
- replacement off-side rear wing (new)
- replacement off-side door
- car completely re-sprayed
- wheel alignment completed
- both sills checked, which were found to be in excellent condition and then filled with wax oil
- 4 new tyres
- new battery
The car was successfully MOTed in June 2023 after all the repairs had been completed. This is a clean example of an imported MX5 (Eunos Roadster). It has been kept as original as possible, i. e. no engine mods, no suspension mod and original interior.
The car runs and drives very well. We are sad to see it go but it is not getting the use it deserves.
