1989 Ford Escort XR3i convertible

MOT till end of May 2025
Imported from Guernsey in 2009 on 28k. It then did circa 700miles in the following 11 years before being sold by a dealer in 2020 on a mere 29k. It was then used as a daily for the following 18 months.
I then bought it in July 2022.

Half leather interior
The sump gasket was leaking so I removed the engine and gave it a refresh in early 2023 (circa 500miles ago) which included all gaskets,
clutch,
valve stem seals,
thermostat,
valves all lapped in.
Cambelt and tensioner
Water pump
Spark plugs
Oil and filter
Coolant
I also painted the block and cleaned the engine bay. Pictures of this work available.
I also pulled the interior out to clean and have pictures showing the floor pans being in immaculate condition.
The Underside has never been welded, it is solid with no welding or attention needed. I have Lanoguarded the underside in the last few weeks. - google lanoguard it really is awesome stuff!
Battery tray has had 1 piece of welding carried out previously.
Drives as it should, brakes as it should, gets up to temperature as it should with fans kicking in when needed.
The car has had a paint job at some point in its life and I would give it a 8 out of 10.
No signs of accident damage.
One small Rust blister on bottom of drivers door.
Front heated windscreen is delaminating like every 90's ford windscreen does.

The price of these iconic 80/ 90's soft tops are only going one way.
Only selling due to lack of use and a new toy having been recently purchased.
Saying that I have done over 100miles in it this weekend and it never missed a beat.
A nice useable classic to help relive the old days.
