Description

Thanks for looking at my very genuine Nissan Micra 1. 0 LS.

I bought this at the beginning of 2020 from a chap who (as a wee side hustle at work) saved it from being scrapped.
The previous main owner to him had been told she couldn't drive any more and had went in to scrap it where he then acquired it. Prior to her, she told him, it was the managers car (I suspect some sort of dealer pre registered car). The story felt true to me and subsequently rang true with history checking as best I could.

I drove it home from London to near Edinburgh. It did more miles that day than I think it's previous 3 years. It ran perfectly. Upon getting it home and giving it a good clean. I ordered and fitted new Suspension all round (standard struts and sportier 30mm lowering springs) and new discs and pads to the front. New toyo tyres and a wee set of 13" Smith Racing alloys were found, refurbished and fitted.

First MOT (in my ownership) at my local favoured (even if a tad ruthless) garage highlighted a few things, most notably some corrosion. So this was delt with at my local Professional Mini restoration place. Top work carried out!

2021 brought a little bit more use, some local trips but most memorable was the trip down to Bath with a friend to collect his 240z, circa 750 mile round trip. Once again this little car didn't miss a beat. Then not too long after that it was featured by Jayemm on Cars on his YouTube channel - hopefully the following link works -

- details above

After a successful year it was put into the garage for a new timing belt and water pump, service and MOT. New valve stems on the wee set of alloys, new brake lines (this was expected, noted the year previous) and I questioned why the note of the strut/ springs as these were fitted before the previous MOT, they are an aftermarket item but not modified in any way and he never bothered then... "Well they caught my eye this year as not standard", like I say tough.

Due to other cars in the collection and having various family commitments, the Micra didn't seem much use through 2022, a run up to Perthshire and back was about it and it was pretty much tucked away after that.

2023, another MOT, calipers not happy with having sat around for the last year. And the trend continued that other cars, hobbies/ interests and family trumped doing much with the Micra.

2024, must make a point of using it. So MOT earlier this year, there has been no fresh underseal applied of any description, I questioned this and the fuel line/ filler neck "oh possibly a bit excessive but got to keep things right".
Anyway, made a point of using it and in May went down to Blyton (with Classic Mini friends) for the weekend and home again. About a 550 mile round trip, yet again it did not miss a beat.

It's currently MOT'd until next March.

If you have any interest in dabbling in owning a "classic"/ old little car then this wee thing should be considered. It's 32+ years old now and not without a few minor imperfections but these are also part of its charm. There are a couple of dings and chips around the front indicators. I am quite happy to say it's not a rusty old heap. Happy to show this up on a ramp to a seriously interested party.

It's not a lot of money for a genuinely good entry into old vehicles.

Feel free to ask any questions I will try to promptly respond. I've stated that it's never missed a beat and that is the honest truth. I bought this as it was a throwback to my mother buying one and there was a level of nostalgia in obtaining/ having it.
It's an old car, it requires a little respect. It's not for doing 80mph on the motorway. It's for taking your time going somewhere. Far too much rushing around these days.
As mentioned it's a genuine car. All matching glass, everything working it's really quite the time warp car and great to get in. It's not some over restored usual classic. It's a real word survivor.
I have a few parts here that would go with it. Nissan mud flaps, spare window winder handles, original steel wheels and hub caps.

I am a mature owner (currently 40) It's been garaged throughout my ownership! And not wanted for anything.

This is not a forced sale, I'd really like the car to go to a "good home". I'd like to use the foot print of it for something else but I have nothing lined up/ planned. It's been with me over 4 years now and with the recent weekend away being good, it feels as good a time as any to consider a change.
