This well-cared for car has been meticulously maintained throughout its life, with full main dealer/ Bentley specialist service history. Maintained regardless of cost (with over £15K spent in last 2 years alone).
This Turbo RL is a true one-off car due to its unique factory and specialist coachbuilder specification. Ordered from Bentley on 04/ 04/ 90 the buyer specified that the car was to be built with a Rolls-Royce Silver Spur interior – front and rear seats, the rear seats being electrically reclining – instead of the standard Turbo R interior. He also specified full leather headlining, 2 sets of over rugs – Wilton and sheepskin, walnut picnic tables, a Motorola 6800X car phone (still with the vehicle) and a long list of additional extras that added to the original purchase price of almost £130, 000 in 1990. The car was delivered from H. A. Fox, on 12/ 09/ 90, straight to Hooper & Co, the famous London coachbuilders, where a unique double-height walnut and leather cocktail cabinet was fitted to the rear compartment at a cost of £20, 000 in 1990. A unique and very costly installation, the cabinet is mirrored on the inside and illuminates at night. The car stills retains the two original cut crystal decanters and matching tumblers, and the sterling silver accessories that complement this one-off bar. Also retained is the original Motorola 6800X car phone specified on the car’s order sheet. The car remained with its original owner, a renowned hotel group Chairman, in central London until his death in late 2021.
I became the 2nd custodian of the car in July 2022. During my ownership the car has been maintained regardless of cost, with over £15, 000 spent with renowned marque specialists in the last 24 months, to bring the car’s mechanicals and electronics back to peak as new performance. The car also benefits from new Avon tyres and a recent (2023) full specialist alloy wheel refurbishment. This car is well known in the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts Club (RREC) - having been featured on the cover of the club magazine 'Spirit & Speed' - on the classic car circuit and on Instagram having been shown at many events over the last 2 years both in the UK and Europe, most recently at the Spa Classic in Belgium in May 2024.
A new acquisition and a lack of storage space forces a reluctant sale of this one-of-a-kind Turbo RL that has had considerable time, effort and money lavished on it during my ownership.
