Description
Here's a superb example of genuine, unrestored 1978 R100RS in its original 1978/ 79 gold plumage - the best colour in the range. Matching numbers with under 39, 000 genuine miles on the clock, she comes with a thick history file meticulously compiled by a previous owner. This isn't a show bike - it's a survivor, with age-related marks. However overall the mechanics and bodywork are in great original condition, with the faring largely unmarked. At some point the engine has been given a graphite finish which, although unoriginal, certainly suits the bike. Stainless exhausts, Krauser panniers (which are wide enough to fit a helmet), tool and first aid kits. Finally, of course, she runs like a dream.
This is a reluctant sale. Sadly, a matching pair of tennis elbows and a dodgy hip mean she's too heavy for me to manhandle in comfort. I thought about selling her earlier in the summer when the hip problem first emerged but I enjoy having it in the garage and, even if I can only take her out while wincing in pain, she's a beautiful thing to own and admire. I fear my future lies with smaller lighter bikes.
Feel free to contact me for a viewing or if you'd like to know more.
The bike is currently in north Lincolnshire.
