For sale is my beloved BMW E30 316i Lux, Lux referring to it being the last E30 4 door saloon produced, after which BMW only produced touring’s and convertibles in the early 90s.
I have owned this car for >7yrs and loved every minute with it.
I am the fourth owner and prior to my ownership it was owned by my father who purchased the vehicle in 2011, so family owned for 13yrs+.
It could be described as an 'honest' example with signs of age related and typical E30 blemishes/ issue here and there, by no means concourse.
It still has the original M40B16 engine which has progressively ticked when cold, as all BMW engines do, this can be remedied with tappet adjustment or replacement/ refurb of the valvetrain.
The engine is mated to the original 4 speed ZF gearbox which is still very smooth, for the period.
In addition to the mentioned ticking, other points of concern are the spots of corrosion on both rear arches, driver’s door, driver’s passenger door and rear valance.
Plus, an intermittent power steering system and stone chip on original windscreen.
Aside from the above, the car has been very well maintained mechanically speaking by myself and a reputable BMW specialist in my local area.
Modifications in my ownership have been-:
- Bilstein B8 dampers all round, fitted 2017.
- Eibach pro-kit lowering springs all round, fitted 2017.
- Re-trimmed Mtech1 steering wheel.
- Genuine 318is front lip spoiler, painted in body colour.
- Refurbished genuine 15" BBS RZ painted in Nogaro Silver with Polaris Silver lips.
- 5mm Eibach rear wheel spacers.
- Full stainless steel custom exhaust system from original manifold and with rolled tip, fitted 2023.
Not only has the car been subtly modified but it has also been well maintained, the fact it has covered nearly 120, 000 miles in 7yrs speaks for itself.
I have a very detailed folder with the car that outlines these works.
Only reason for sale is I have owned this car for a very long time and now would like to sell and use the proceeds towards another car.
It has been cherished under my ownership and been all over the place, including being used as my wedding car.
** I will not sell the car without a viewing, priced at £5, 500 but will accept sensible offers. The market is skewed post pandemic, but I have seen higher mileage and more terminally rusty ones with higher asking prices.
Included in the sale will be the original 14" BBS RZ, original Lux lip spoiler, original boot spoiler, two spare doors, two spare wing mirrors.
