1969 VW 1600L Variant RHD UK car (1968 year manufacture) in L630 Cobolt blue.
Desirable early body shape, blade bumpers with IRS rear (drum brakes) & front disc brakes.
The car STARTS, RUNS & DRIVES but it is a PROJECT car, but not a major one and with some effort the square could be a usable daily driver again or take it to the next level as its a pretty rare original UK car.
I've owned the car since Sept 2016 and in that time its had a rebuilt 1600cc engine (Fellows VW), rebuilt twin solexs (Stateside Tuning) and the following replaced; Exhaust and tailpipe, heat exchangers, steering box, fuel pump, seat belts, rear cargo mat and probably more.
Comes with loads of history and receipts including original instruction manual & early service record!.
The car was a daily driver (last picture) until maybe 18 months ago when it went in for pre MOT work (N/ S outer sill welding), the garage partially stripped the car (removed bumpers, lights, NS front and rear wings) then unfortunately closed up shop, leaving the car in its current state.
It now needs welding repairs to NS outer sill, NS rear bumper mount, the area in front of the NS rear torsion tube and the OS door skin is detacted along the bottom, it also has some rust to the NS rear roof corner.
Aside from the bits mentioned (there may well be other small areas requiring work) the car is pretty solid. The cream vinyl interior is tidy but now needs a good clear. It has been restored in the past and whilst by no means a show winner it is not an absolute rotbox its good in lots of places - see the pictures for more detail.
Car is COMPLETE with all parts removed, wings (in good condition), lights etc, car comes with some parts including new outer sill, rust free drivers door, some new door seals / felts, new rear window seals, rebuilt drivers door lock / handle..
