For sale. 1969 ISO Grifo GL350, VIN 261. Matching numbers. This Grifo was delivered new in the USA and subsequently sold to an Australian buyer in 1995. A full restoration was commenced in 1996.
The bodywork was rebuilt to a high standard but approximately 25 hours of metal work remains to be done. This Grifo, unlike many others, was in very good condition prior to the commencement of its restoration; it is very original in many aspects . The engine compartment was fully refurbished and the engine and 4 speed transmission were fully rebuilt and installed. Painting was commenced as pictures show but the project was halted in 2003 and the vehicle was then placed in dry storage and remained there until now.
Unfortunately, during its time in storage, the seats, centre console, door cards, dash face and dash top that were with a motor trimmer for refurbishment were lost by that organisation.
Other than the interior, the Grifo is largely complete and ready for completion. The Borrani wheels are original and sound and ready for refurbishment or replacement.. The stainless steel bumper bars are original and easily restored. Exterior bright work is excellent, The glass is all original and in excellent condition except for a stone chip in the front screen. The rear heated screen is in excellent, undamaged condition.
This is a great opportunity to acquire a rare, stunning Italian classic. The bodywork that was done was carried out at considerable cost and is an excellent foundation for the restoration. The interior issue is the only significant challenge.
