You're looking at this ad, so you know what you're looking at, the 1990's icon and super saloon, the Mercedes-Benz Cosworth. If you like the idea of driving around in a well cared for, reliable classic car that you can drive everyday and won't cost you a fortune to insure and run this could be the one for you. Easy to maintain yourself, or there are many reasonably priced specialists (outside of the Merc main dealer network) around, This one is the 2. 5-16 Auto with full leather interior, air con, electric windows and sun roof. Back in the 1990s this was a very cool and fast car, it's still very cool and gets a lot of attention wherever it goes, if you're the shy retiring type, this car isn't for you! During the ownership of the car it has always been garaged. It was originally ordered from my local MB dealer by a man who lived about 200 yards from my house. The following work has all been carried out by Mercedes specialists, and receipts along with a complete documented history from new are included in the sale. Full engine strip and rebuild (bores, pistons, crank, bearings and cams all found to be within tolerance, so are original), inner and outer sills have been replaced. Limited slip diff rebuilt with new bearings and seals, new propshaft centre bearing and bush. OSF wing replaced with original MB part, Gearbox reconditioned (original gearbox retained), new Bilstein shocks and springs front and back, all new brakes front and back (callipers, discs and pads), air con recommissioned with new condenser, compressor, hoses & pressure switches. The front seats have had new foam inserts (original leather covers). I have just had the exhaust replaced, (warranty and receipt included in the sale). No rust anywhere. The paintwork is showing its age in places and there are a couple of minor surface scratches as shown in the pics. The rear door cards could do with replacing as they are also showing signs of their age(see pics). Everything works as it should (yes even the lap timer & outside temp display) and the air con is nice and cold. Genuine AMG mono block alloys with very good tyres all round. This car comes complete with an A4 box file containing fully documented history. The car has just passed it's MOT with no advisories, so is good until Feb 2025. Performance Bargain Of The Decade.
