In the 1980's Renault produced several types of cars, hatchback, saloons, estates and most models had a Turbo in the range. This is one off only seven Renault Fuego Turbo's that were originally imported to Ireland.
This Renault Fuego Turbo MZG 500 is an original Irish car and was registered in 1984. I'm the third owner.
The registration number MZG 500 was reserved by a Renault dealership Smiths in Harcourt Street, Dublin 2 where the car was purchased. I purchased the car in 2012 as a bare shell as you can see in one of the photo's. Over the following few years I restored to a very high standard and in 2018 at The Retro Classic Car Show in Limerick was awarded best 80's car. I did a full nut and bolt restoration and I have over 300 photos showing the restoration from start to finish. The car has covered approximately 61, 000 miles, the car is fitted to a high standard with electric windows, mirrors, central locking, power steering and a five speed gearbox. I have many receipts of the parts I replaced during the restoration. During the restoration I replaced the wiring loom with an upgraded wiring loom and the car now has a trip computer. The car is fitted with a full stainless steel exhaust and is painted in the original Renault R654 black paint and new TURBO decals fitted to both sides of the car and rear window. I fitted a period Kenwood KRC 700L radio cassette player along with a Kenwood KAC 8200 amplifier. I have the original invoice, manual and boxes for the Kenwood products. Since the restoration the car has always been garaged. Comes with brown log book.
The car drives very well and is now over 40 years and NCT exempt and taxed to 04/ 25.
