I have had this car for well over 15 years. Probably the best car I’ve ever had. I don’t really want to sell it, but 18 months ago my wife had a stroke and couldn’t easily get in and out of it, so we’re not using it anywhere near as much as we did.
It’s time to pass it on to someone else who will enjoy it and give it the TLC it deserves.
It has been regularly serviced and looked after by a local BMW specialist and in spite of its high mileage - we’ve been everywhere - the mechanics and bodywork are in excellent condition. The light grey leather interior is showing its age, but that’s only to be expected after 24 years.
It has been very reliable - In the whole of the 15 years and having driven it well over 100, 000 miles, the car has only let us down once when the generator failed. Its six cylinder 2. 5 litre engine is one of the best BMW engines ever – smooth and powerful.
My previous BMW - a 320 with basically the same mechanics - was still going strong at 230, 000 miles.
The MOT is valid until April 2025.
The electric hood operates OK but because of its age, it requires a bit of manual assistance. The hood mechanism has just had a maintenance service carried out by a hood specialist.
The car runs beautifully, has a lot of power, handles well and is great fun to drive.
This car is definitely a future classic - if it isn’t already. Its value can only go up.
