Description
This is my beautiful 1960 500cc classic Triumph finished in competition trim. The bike has had loads of work, lots of new parts, using genuine wherever available. It is an easy starter, serviced with new oil all round, tank and sump filters cleaned, so it’s all good and ready for your next adventure.
V5 in my name, its a historic vehicle, tax and MOT exempt
Engine
Fully rebuilt 500 twin, new main bearings, bronze valve guides and valves, primary chain etc. Bores and pistons looked new and were micrometer checked and scrubbed spotless again and reused. Fully reconditioned concentric AMAL carb fitted. Runs well, ticks over nicely, sounds great and has good oil return.
Gearbox
Rebuilt with new bushes, bearings and seals
Frame, Forks, wheels and electrics
Forks reconditioned, new wheel rims and spokes (stainless), including new tyres and tubes.
New seat, scrambler style handlebars and cables etc
Complete new Lucas wiring loom, 12 volt solid state regulator and quality battery fitted. It is properly done, all soldered joints and brass bullet connections, no crimping, scotch-clip or chocolate block bodges.
Paintwork is exceptional and is finished in glorious Triumph “pacific” blue. I have an unused pair of standard silencers I am happy you discuss if you prefer those over the siamese pipe fitted.
You can find cheaper 500's but this bike is absolutely fabulous and it will be hard to find a nicer one, so why buy cheap and spend more to get it right?
Selling to make space for 2 recent (old) bike purchases, the last pictures are for my BSA A10 that I will be sadly advertising for sale next
