Stunning Citroen Saxo VTS finished in rare Wicked Red Metallic in exceptional condition.
Ownership - Purchased new from Citroen London West by a gent who owned it until last year when he part exchanged it for a Honda, the Saxo lived in Twickenham until 2023. I bought the car last year and have absolutely loved every moment of it, I’m 42 and far from a boy racer, the car has been treated very carefully during its time with me, and kept dry at all times in my garage.
Condition - I think it’s in absolutely stunning condition both inside and out, it’s completely original and as intended, bar a Bluetooth head unit and replacement front speakers (I’m guessing because the old ones deteriorated). I had intended to source an original Citroen head unit for it, but the Bluetooth one is actually really useful! There are a few small ripples in the bodywork here and there, but nothing to detract from its look. There is no rust I’m aware of, and no welding has ever been needed to my knowledge, it looks completely original underneath. The original alloy spare wheel is in its cradle under the car.
History - The Saxo comes with its original bookpack including stamped service book and a presentation folder of invoices for servicing and repairs over its life, as well as its original sales brochures. Both keys are present and the remote works the central locking fine. I have the original V5 from the previous owner showing him as the only owner u til I got it, as well as the current one registered in my name and address. Service history as follows;

Drive - The Saxo drives great, it squeaks and rattles a bit (as they did when they were new…!), the engine sounds as it should and it pulls well. All the electronics in the car work as they should, occasionally the digital oil gauge shows empty on startup, turn it off and on again and it reads correctly full. It was off the road and in my dry garage all winter.
Cat D - The Saxo was declared a Cat D in 2016, im in contact with its original owner and asked the cause, I have an email from him in the file which states ‘I didn’t realise it had been declared a total loss by my insurer, the Honda dealership told me. I vaguely recall my insurer not wanting to pay for the body shop work, but they did after some negotiation. I would have gone private if I’d known. The damage was minor, drivers side rear quarter.’ This email will come with the car. I believe it’s been incorrectly categorised as Cat D, insurer originally refused to pay body shop quote but later agreed.
All in all this is a very rare car, there are not many around with ownership and history like it, and even more so one which hasn’t had the ‘Max Power’ treatment, even the parcel shelf is original and intact! I’m in absolutely no rush to sell it, I love it, and I have space for it, I just don’t have time to enjoy it. Have a look at its MOT history online, you’ll notice it failed its last MOT on emissions initially, I believe this to be because I’ve driven it carefully, slowly and at low engine speed since I’ve had it, the fix was a bottle of fuel system treatment and a run up a fast road, it then passed with no advisories a couple of days after.
