Honda CX 500 Deluxe 1981 – 7000 Miles - £xxxx - open to offers
This CX 500 Delux has been subject to a 2023-24 winter project rebuild by a professional Engineer. Since rebuild, it has covered only 150 miles and is for sale, to fund a 24-25 project!

The bike was fully stripped and all items meticulously cleaned, checked against original specification and rebuilt. The bike has been lightly customised, but a new owner can easily return it to standard, modify or just enjoy as it is.
There is no requirement for an MOT on this age of bike.
Registration Number is PHH 377W.
This is a USA import dating to 2016, it has been fully UK registered and all taxes paid. The VAT and import papers are included. The bikes original handbook from 1981, a spare key and workshop manual are also included.

All items were dismantled, cleaned in a sonic bath or vapour blasted, dependent on the specific item, then polished and painted as appropriate.
Carburettors - rebuilt with new gaskets, needles, air filter and choke cable.
Fuel tap – Replaced with new aftermarket type.
Petrol tank – once cleaned, minor repairs were made, and the tank was sealed & painted.
Frame - was completely dismantled and with all relevant threads and bearings removed or protected was shot blasted, treated internally with rust Dinitrol chassis wax, exterior undercoated and painted in black.
Engine – the engine, with very low miles, was running and tested before the rebuild was started. Deemed only to require fresh oil, filter, plugs and the clutch stripped.
Gearbox – in excellent condition, pre rebuild.
Brake Master Cylinder - cylinder bore honed and new piston & seals fitted.
Rear brake - assembly stripped, cleaned and rebuilt.
Front brakes – the original calipers were beyond repair, so a second-hand set were bought. These were fully rebuilt using stainless steel pistons and an overhaul kit.
Front forks and headstock – all rebuilt with new seals for the forks.
Wheels – cleaned, checked for true, polished and minor paint correction was all that was required.
Tyres - New (Maxxis Classic) tyres and were fitted to the tubeless wheels.
Side stand - a new safety rubber and spring fitted.
Rear light – was in excellent condition and just required the usual clean and a new gasket.
Instrument cluster – in excellent condition and just needed new gaskets, lubrication and painting.
Radiator – cleaned, flushed, pressure tested and painted.
Headlamp - Standard Honda CX unit mated with a custom 8” lamp from Alchemy motorcycles.
