Here is my Renault 5 GT Turbo in pearl white for sale, which I have owned since 1994.
It has been stored off the road since 1999 (see the old tax disc)
My circumstances have now changed, hence the reason for my reluctant sale after all these years.
It has been restored by Renault specialist, Mark Fish Motorsport in 2017.
It has been dry stored since then and not used apart from the two Mot tests and recent checks and road tests to ensure it is ready to drive away etc.
The car is currently with Mark Fish for this sale.
This is a highly desirable car, with over £15000 spent in 2016/ 17 , which with the parts and labour charges as they are now, would be close to double that figure.
Invoices are in the history file.
The car runs and drives as close as can be described as new.
The car is completely standard, apart from the original retro alarm system (not operating), and the seats. The seats have been tastefully re upholstered in high quality leather.
Mechanically and structurally FULLY restored to the highest standards.
It has had local repairs to both outer sills, approx 30 cm length to give you an idea of the very limited original corrosion on this car. All metal work to the original panel specs.
All body cavities have been injected with anti corrosion protection fluid. This protection has proved to work for over twenty years.
PS. Advised to top it up every 5 years.
As you can see in the photos, there are areas for further attention as and when desired.
Mainly the paint work to;
The driver's door dents and lock area. Below the windscreen x two, Both rear quarter panels, Rear tailgate. The brand new OE front bumper ( 2x mouldings are supplied)
The wheel arch and sill mouldings and rear bumper. Some have slight marks. They are in the original condition and paintwork. Still showing the original pimple surface as per the new front bumper. (very rare indeed)
Mechanically I will do my best to list all the work carried out and the parts renewed;
* All new brakes, including the master cylinder. Hoses, calipers, discs, pads and rear bearings.
* Track alignment and steering wheel centre point set.
* Front and rear shock absorbers. Including front bump stops.
* Three part clutch assembly. New flywheel bolts.
* Renault service exchange starter motor.
* Starter motor and manifold heat shields, new Renault parts.
* Gearbox, a comprehensive full rebuild. New bearings , synchro's, detent springs, seals, etc. all listed. Oil tight.
* New tyres , wheels and hubcaps fully refurbished.
* Radiator and water pump , original OE.
* Selected engine parts are re plated.
* The sump and timing chain covers were removed, cleaned and checked, ALL new seals and gaskets. Oil tight.
* Carburettor full rebuild. plated items.
* Battery just fitted.
* Fully serviced with all fluids replaced. Head retorqued and valve clearances adjusted.
* Renault service exchange nearside driveshaft.
* Nearside and off side engine mountings.
* New top and bottom hoses, Reservoir tank. incl anti freeze.
* Front to rear fuel pipe, both renewed in Kunifer. Fuel filter.
* Fuel tank drained and flushed. Tank sender unit cleaned and checked, fuel pump and new filter.
Items to consider going forward:
* Both electric windows work, but are slow and need a little "help" to fully go down and up.
* The drivers heel pad is worn. So either, fit mats or a new heel panel stitched/ bonded in.
* Heated rear window elements not working. The wiring is ok.
* Interior mirror has a small tarnished area
