Description

The pictures don't do it justice. Super rare car especially in this colour. Cover car for Classic American back in 1991. The vivid Turquoise glows on the show field with a contrasting cream roof. Very original 3rd and best year model of Vergil Exner's Forward Look. Fantastic condition throughout. Lovely 6. 4 litre Hemi engine (392 cu in.) Excellent body coloured engine bay and trunk. Original vinyl interior with a great dash with no splits. Material inserts may have been replaced at some point. Rechromed bumpers etc. look incredible. Being pillarless it is so cool with all the windows down. Power Steering and brakes. Stainless exhaust system. Great stainless trim throughout. Believed to have received a new paint job in the seventies. Nice clean headlining and carpet. Squeeky clean throughout. Cover car for Classic American and Frost Restoration brochure. Thick file comes with this car and new smaller spares in boot. Car had historic repairs to inner sills back in the day but floor pans in great condition! Better pictures to follow when the sun comes out. Two good videos on Youtube just type in 1957 Chrysler New Yorker and they will come up. From it's soaring Fins to the pastel shades of the interior this car sums up the 50's sense of excess and style. People are blown away by it and it makes them smile. It's a joy to own and drive in probably the best colour available with the interior screaming mint ice cream. Pulls like a train. So cool. The 1957 Chrysler products represent the best of Vergil Exner's designs and show what a genius he was. This is history on wheels with one of the nicest engine compartments ever.
