Description

Classic Kawasaki GPz 1100 B1

I purchased this fantastic GPz in 2021 as part of my classic collection. Ive never used it on the road and prior to storage ran fine. Will need light re commissioning...
UPDATE: Charged battery and the engine started 3rd press of the button.. It does run, but Pops and Bangs, will be due to not being run over 3 years.. Old fuel and carbs will need cleaning...
Heres the words from the previous owner:

Imported from the USA in 2018 that I registered on an age related plate here in England.

The 18944 miles I believe is genuine, pointers to this include footrest rubbers with little wear and the hatched pattern on the brake pedal unworn.
The coils are some kind of performance brand, but I don't know which.
I had fitted a new Metzler Lasertec rear tyre.

The petrol tank, side panels and tail piece all have new firecracker red paint as per original, the front mudguard got painted black due to a misunderstanding with the painter.

The original Kerker 4 into 1 exhaust system has been powder coated heat resistant, new exhaust gaskets fitted.

This bike came from the USA where the ELR, Eddie Lawson replica, a model almost the same as this B1, had a Kerker system as standard. The Kerker exhaust is a rare survivor, Kawasaki used Kerker systems on later models as standard.

I've had both wheels, the swinging and rear brake torque arm powder coated. Both wheels and swinging arm have had new quality bearings, brand on the invoice.

The notoriously unreliable fuel injection system I removed and in it's place fitted Z1000j carbs, the usual conversion for this model. Once the carbs were thoroughly cleaned inside and out, the engine fired up effortlessly. Compression feels very strong.
New throttle cable fitted.

The rocker cover is not cracked, the gasket was badly leaking, so we fitted a new one.
No broken fins on the head or barrels.
Hazards, indicators, main, dip rear and stop lights all function, as do both horns. Indicators are the original.
The original keys fit the ignition, steering, petrol cap and helmet lock, the seat lock i replaced with one off a kz550 which from forums i learned was the same. All locks work properly.
The seat is in good order.
I had some engine protector casing cradles made specially by Simon Francis Services at Leven near Beverley.
I had a new stator fitted that is stamped Made in England by Electrex because the original magnets fell apart when I had the casing off because the starter clutch had been slipping, Also fitted a new slipper clutch on the starter drive.

I haven't kept the unreliable fuel injection system, same as I wouldn't keep an old battery.

This GPZ is in Mint Condition...
