The Bedford OB was first introduced in 1939 as part of a new range of Bedford models, including the 'O' type lorry chassis. The OB coach, featuring a modified Hendonian body by Duple to fit the new 14ft 6in wheelbase, saw limited production before World War II. Post-war, production resumed with 12, 693 units completed between 1945 and 1951. Of the original production, approximately 180 OB coaches remain, with almost 70 in roadworthy condition and around 30 licensed to carry passengers.
