I‘ve owned this lovely car since Feb 2012. Number of previous keepers only 2 and so there is loads of documentation with the car including service documentation, history, MoTs etc. As seen in the photos, it has the genuine M-Sport body specification. The engine is standard 2. 0 straight six. Importantly, the engine was replaced by BMW under warranty at 46000 Miles, due to the well known Nikasil issue on M52 engines of that era. So actual engine mileage on the car is ca. 150000. The car runs well and is MOTD until January 2025 and is certainly a useable classic.
There is a full Alpine Sound System included with the car with subwoofer & supporting documentation.
With a 1996 built car, there are age related improvements which could be made: headlining is sagging (common), bodywork around arches/ tailgate showing signs of bubbling, alloy wheels, while good, could benefit from a cosmetic makeover. In short, a sympathetic restoration could be made. It is a rare car in good driveable condition, with some cosmetic age related issues, and it is priced to reflect this. We bought this car in 2012 for my wife - she enjoyed the safety of E36 3 Series BMWs. She loves driving this car and has often received comments on its lines and looks. One just doesn’t see too many of these, in Glasgow at least. We no longer need 2 cars in the household, so it is now time for a new owner to enjoy ownership.
