Description
Morris Minor Semi Sports
After more than 20 years of ownership sadly for sale because of the loss of garagespace:
Original Morris Minor Semi Sports.
Built: December 1930
Because this car has been exported to South Africa immediately after production in December 1930, it still has its original body (wood and metal) underneath the fabric.
So this is one oft the very few Semi Sports with mainly original bodywork.
The car has been registered by the (SAVVA) Southern African Veteran and Vintage Association in 1977 (documents available).
It came back to Europe in 1987, when the then owner moved home to Switzerland.
Actually the Semi Sports is situated in Germany since approx. 25 years.
During my ownership (20+ years) I kept it in a good roadgoing technical condition but I alsokept the well aged used appearence.
It is running / driving, on the road and has German MOT (TÜV).
Condition:
- Good and usable overall condition
- Complete car (nothing missing)
- virtually original. Has never been restored in a conventional way.
- mainly original bodywork
- All weathergear comes with the car
- The old hood is not very watertight…
- 5 very good original wheels and 5 good tyres (Excelsior)
- OHC exchange engine in South Africa in the 70s
- Generally overhauled in South Africa in the 70s
- New non original fabric and garnish moulding (South Africa)
- Seats/ seatcovers are worn and not original (foam and tacky processed new fabric).
- The huge taillights had to be fitted to get the car registered in Switzerland in 1989
