Description

I bought this bike in 2004 and really enjoyed riding it (after I had replaced the cracked bottom yoke (a not uncommon failure as very thin on clamping area) and fitted a fuel pump that didn't overwhelm the float needles). A number of niggling faults took it off the road and then family life took precedence. Over the years I had a titanium stand made that is stronger, the correct length and no longer located by an M6 sprocket cover bolt. MOT's are no problem, taking either wheel off the ground (the bike has a fresh MOT). The bike has a new loom made by TWS with a good used Koso RX2 GP speedometer (which read 26126). The original clocks were changed when they read 19824 in km so mileage is 12500 miles (I still have the original clocks). The bike now has two USB charging plugs and the fuses are conveniently located to the right of the clocks.
The fuel level gauge uses the original Bimota sensor so is only a warning light. The rear ohlins shock was professionally overhauled and I changed the fork seals and oil.
The body work has some marks and scratches which I have tried to show in the photos. There is also an area on the front wheel where corrosion has got under the paint and a scratch mark on the front right hand disc hub (both aesthetic). The mirrors have the extenders that were available from the owners club many years ago and help give improved rear visibility.
I have put a new Pirelli Diablo strada on the rear as well as new Iwis chain and sprockets. The radiator was recored, new silicon hoses fitted and filled with Silkolene mag cool. The carburettors have been ultra sonically cleaned and rebuilt with new seals and gaskets. The valve clearances were checked and oil and filter changed. I hope the bike is an honest example of the SB6R, it has been used and is certainly nicer and easier to live with than when I first bought it. I will be sad to see it go but I bought a 14 year old ZX10R (for peanuts) a few years ago when this was still off the road which duplicates the Bimota in many ways and I now need to thin my bikes out. Therefore financially the SB6R has to go. Any questions please feel free to ask
