Capots Vintage, specialist in sports and classic vehicles in Lyon, is offering for sale a 1956 Austin Healey 100 BN2: This is a very rare version of the Austin Healey we are offering: a 100 BN2 with its 4-cylinder 2660cc engine and 4-speed manual gearbox. The BN2 differs from the BN1 in that the gearbox gains an extra gear, the front wheel arches are larger, the rear axle is different and the car has the option of a two-tone paint finish. Our 1956 model is presented in Healey Blue with navy blue upholstery: an unmistakable colour combination that suits it perfectly. The bodywork has recently been stripped bare for a complete repaint, and the various trims (carpets, doors and boot) are also new. In 2019, it underwent a major overhaul by a professional, the main work on which included: complete replacement of the carburetion system (carburettors overhauled, fuel system replaced, new fuel pump and fuel tank), complete overhaul of the braking system (hydraulic and mechanical systems replaced), replacement of the cylinder head gasket, overhaul of the ignition system, overhaul of the cooling system (radiator rebuilt, hoses replaced, thermostat, improved fan and addition of an electric fan), improvement of the alternator and replacement of the starter motor. The total cost of this overhaul was around €20, 000, and we have the invoices to prove the work carried out. More recently, we carried out a full service on this car in our workshop, including oil and filter changes, brake servicing and the fitting of a new stainless steel exhaust system.
