Capots Vintage, specialists in prestige and classic vehicles in Lyon, are offering for sale a very rare version of the Austin Healey: a 100 BN1 with its 4-cylinder 2660cc engine and 4-speed manual gearbox. The BN2 differs from the BN1 in that the gearbox gains an extra gear, the front wheel arches are larger, the rear axle is different and the car can be painted in two colours as an option. Our 1956 model is presented in Healey Blue with navy blue upholstery: a tried and tested colour combination that suits it perfectly. The bodywork has recently been stripped bare for a complete repaint, and the various trims (carpets, doors and boot) are also new.
This Austin Healey underwent a major overhaul by a professional in 2019, the main work on which included: complete replacement of the carburettor system (carburettors overhauled, fuel system replaced, new fuel pump and fuel tank), complete overhaul of the braking system (hydraulic and mechanical systems replaced), replacement of the cylinder head gasket, overhaul of the ignition system, overhaul of the cooling system (radiator rebuilt, hoses replaced, thermostat, improved fan and addition of an electric fan), improvement of the alternator and replacement of the starter motor. The total cost of this overhaul was around €20, 000, and we have the invoices to prove the work carried out. More recently, in our workshops, we carried out a complete service on this car, including oil changes and filters, a brake overhaul and the fitting of a new stainless-steel exhaust system. There are no costs involved, this is a roadster that just wants to be driven and enjoyed on sunny outings! Possible trade-in for your classic or prestige vehicle.
