Description
1967 Riley Elf mk111.
Mine for 32 years.
It’s a mini bitsa: Stage 1 kit, A+ engine, dry suspension, 1-2-3 Electronic, uprated rad, disc brakes etc.
My main car since I learnt to drive in 1995, well, bits of it. It has taken my family and I to such glamorous places as Hull, France, The Isle of Wight ( where it and I are from) and all over the country. Last big trip was Cornwall from Margate and back.
Never thought I’d sell him but I need some money, so I’m testing the water here.
I’ve owned bits of this car since 1990, the shell since ‘92. It has become a collection of the good parts of various minis I’ve owned over the years. Restored, or refreshed a few times in the 32 years.
I’ve spent a fortune over the years and have just refreshed it again, though there are niggles, which I thought I’d get round to eventually.
It looks smart but is a car to drive. Fast. That saying, it could do with a proper rolling road session to get the most out of him, and the interior could do with a good clean.
If a miracle happens I won’t be selling but if you fancy the most fun you’ll ever have on 4 wheels then this is your man. Especially if you want to sell it back to me next time I earn a good wedge of cash.
Various wheels and trim parts included in the sale, including the other bucket seat.
the details belowDriving a well sorted Mini is one of the best experiences!
The perfect tonic to a bad day.
This Car was owned by an old lady in Ryde, then was bought by a chap with his son. They didn’t do anything with it and in ‘92 my Dad and I bought it as a spares car for our Riley Elf. It languished in a lock up until that first Elf eventually was too far gone and this one was dragged out, stripped and made into a new car using the original Elf, a mini clubman estate and mainly a rolled Piccadilly Mini.
So emerged ‘Frank’.
Since 2002 it has been my main car. Restored properly in 2004 but it was too perfect for me and took years till he felt ‘right’.
Various work has been done to make it happier on motorways and rear belts, once our children arrived.
This isn’t an easy sale.
It’s engine had 40, 000 miles in ‘02 bit I’ve lost touch with exactly what its mileage is now.
Please look after him.
