Belsize Motors, established in 1901 and based in Clayton, Manchester were founded by Marshall & Company. The company took its name from their Belsize works were their Bicycles were made.



In 1912 Belsize offered a 14/ 16HP four cylinder model complete with 4/ 5 seater torpedo style Coachwork, spare wheel, front and rear lighting with hood and windscreen. The car was available for £350 in this body style or £430 for a larger Landaulette body.



‘B186’ is a fine example of the 1912 14/ 16 model. Owned by a previous VCC President in recent years, the car presents wonderfully. The cars early history is unknown however a duplicate logbook shows it was registered to a Mr G Whitaker from Burnley in 1973. The car underwent a full restoration by RW Barker (a prominent Belsize collector) in the early 1990’s and this was completed in 1994 with photographs on file showing the work undertaken. RW Barker sold the car in 2012 to a Mr B Whitehead another prolific collector of Belsize motor cars.



The car has bills on file worth circa £33, 000 over the last 10 or so years and is complete with electric starting with charging, electric lighting, indicators and brake lights, meaning the car is very useable. The car in recent years has been used on various VCC events and rallies and has won best In show at other events.
