Triumph 2. 5 PI manual with overdrive & power steering. Sapphire Blue with black cloth interior. S Alloys are now fitted with recent tyres.
Oscar started life in Scotland as a 2. 5 PI automatic registered to Hewlett-Packard, presumably as a company car. It did most of the mileage in the first 3 years, as there is parking permit for 1977. At this point the engine seized and the car was stored for 40 years!
I owned a very late facelift PI that was rotten, but had good mechanicals. Rather than weld the car, I searched and found Oscar that required an engine. I bought Oscar and a Triumph specialist swapped the engine and manual gearbox over and recommissioned the car about 7 years ago.
I have used the car over the years and done a number of long trips.
Although the car wasn't rusty, the paintwork was showing its age, I had it resprayed about 3 years ago. I chose to have the original sapphire blue but lacquered for a more durable finish.
The car has been regularly serviced at a specialist in Acton, and last year by Charles Harrison. The compression was checked at that time and showed tone very healthy.
Reluctant sale, but I have another PI and a number of other classics.
The car is registered as historic, but has a current MOT until March 2025. Very rare and NEVER BEEN WELDED! Find another in such good condition. Although the engine and gearbox were changed, I have the original car's V5 and Oscar's V5 has been updated accordingly.
