Here is my CBD34 Gold Star survivor which is I think in nice presentable condition. Tidy and original ( as far as I'm aware , there are bound to be some detail things that a purist will pull it up on ..... but it is 70 years old ).
I bought it on this platform a few years ago and it had been a museum exhibit for many years. The logbook shows it was registered in 1984 which is when it was restored, presumably like a lot of these left in a shed for years. A non runner when it came to me an engine strip showed a relatively new piston/ rebore and after a refresh ( oil change, reconditioned magneto etc ) it now starts easily and sounds very healthy indeed. The whole bike presents well but has scope for detailing/ improvement depending on what you want from a bike like this. My opinion is just get out there and ride it !
There are two items that do need to be addressed, one is the speedo that doesn't register, ( I have noticed it only goes to 80mph whereas it should be 120mph so a replacement is in order). The other is that there is no battery fitted as I've never been out past my bedtime. Also the photos should show a couple of small dents in the rear mudguard. Your chance to buy a classic Gold star at a sensible price.
