Description

I bought this Guzzi about 10 years ago and what was meant to be a light refurb turned into a virtual wheels up rebuild.
The frame, wheels and all brackets have been powder coated and 99% of all fasteners are now stainless steel. All frame and wheel bearings replaced, including the UJ.
All paint in the pictures is professionally resprayed.
When I bought the bike it had about 33800 miles on the clock and now has 38000 miles, so has covered approx 4200 miles in the last 10 years.
Most of the following work was carried out during the initial rebuild, but some has been added over the years to improve the ride.
Carbs stripped, cleaned and rebuilt with new seals. Original floats and jetting still fitted and accelerator pumps have been synchronised. Bell crank lever outer springs removed and lighter Dell Orto springs fitted with Venhill ptfe lined cables to lighten the throttle.
New clutch fitted, lighter flywheel and ring gear fitted, gearbox seals replaced with Viton items. Flywheel markings applied using a piston stop and timing disc and are now more accurate than when it left the factory.
Sump extension fitted. Cam chain, tensioner and cam followers replaced.
Brakes de linked, stainless steel discs fitted with carbon ceramic pads and Goodridge braided hoses. PS15 master cylinder front, PS12 master cylinder at the rear. Brake and Clutch levers now dogleg for easier use.
Triumph side stand fitted, non auto retracting.
Gammatronix ignition amplifier fitted, original condensers not used but still in place with original points.
Starter wiring modified to prevent ‘startus interuptous’ (click, no crank).
Bike came with Konis fitted, they’ve been stripped, re oiled and softer springs from Ikon fitted (original available). Front forks stripped, cleaned and rebuilt, NBS fork brace fitted. Original dampers replaced with Showa cartridges from an RC36 (Honda VFR750). Comes with pre load adjusters, and is tuneable via oil viscosity and air gap.
With the Conti radial tyres now fitted and the suspension and brake upgrades, this bike now rides and stops better than a standard Le Mans.
Keihan stainless steel exhaust fitted, ceramic coated satin black.
Electrical system, stripped, cleaned, inspected.
Registered as Historic, £0 road tax, MoTs not required.
