My Mk1 (pull handle) MGB is reluctantly offered for sale. I bought it on a private sale in 2008 and am the 9th owner This car was built in 1964 and registered on 1st January 1965. It is in red with wire wheels and overdrive in 3rd and 4th and 1798cc engine. It is a thoroughly reliable car and has regularly been on 400 mile trips without any problems. It starts first time, has good oil pressure and the overdrive kicks in when asked. Although not a concours car it is very presentable. In the early 1990's it was partially restored with new seats and carpets, resprayed red, fitted with rhe correct matching number Gold Seal 5 bearing engine and a change of polarity fron positive to negative earth. At some time a wooden steering wheel was fitted. I have owned this car since 2008 and since then have carried out the following work: New fuel tank (the correct Mk1 type), filter, pump and lines up to the carbs; new clutch; new Moss exhaust; conplete brake overhaul; electronic ignition; replace the two 6V batteries with one 12v battery. It is now fully a sorted and reliable motor.
Although Tax and MOT exempt I had it MOT't for peace of mind and it passed with 1 advisory, which I think was a bit of a niggle and could be sorted with a wire brush and some paint. See Photo!
