Comprehensively restored to near original factory specification between 1999 and 2002 and in regular use until a few years ago, recording approximately 15, 000 reliable miles since the restoration was finished. It is a genuine RHD Mk 1 Sprite, being first registered in Bristol in July 1959 and comes complete with current V5C, Heritage Certificate, copy of the original warranty document, all MoT certificates from 2002 and a comprehensive set of notes / photos of the restoration. It has more recently been MoT’d to provide reassurance to prospective purchasers. In addition there are a quantity of show awards gained during the previous ownership.
The car has all steel bodywork and is finished in it’s original factory colour of Iris Blue with excellent panel gaps. It is as clean and well painted underneath as it is on top, and the engine bay has been very well detailed too. It has a 948cc engine with the later / improved 1/ 1/ 4” SU carbs but retains an original ‘smoothcase’ gearbox and drum brakes all round as supplied by the factory. It is complete with chrome front bumper; heater; rev counter and full weather equipment i. e. hood, tonneau and side screens and sits well on the correct and original 15 leaf rear springs.
The Frogeye is also available with a vast array of valuable spare parts collected over the years of ownership. It includes a ‘smoothcase’ gearbox, some panels, new grille, suspension parts, plugs, distributors , radiator etc. Too much to list but photos available and all subject to separate negotiation.
