Beautiful Cowley-built 2. 5 V6 Connoisseur in Zircon Silver with black leather piped with sandstone. The car is in excellent shape, with an MOT valid until June 2025, cambelts/ waterpump done November 2023, oil service April 2024, also new spark plugs and rear calipers and the proper rear numberplate! It runs perfectly - the engine pulls well, the gearbox is silky smooth, and there are no warning lights nor any unusual sounds or other issues from the engine, gearbox or suspension. The interior is in amazing condition - the headliner is absolutely pristine, the steering wheel shows none of the usual wear, and the seat leather has only the tiniest marks (driver's bolster fine). Two keys plus spare rear numberplate. The towbar is in full working order.
Inevitably, no car this age is perfect. The aircon needs to be regassed, and there's a faint rattle from the interior trim on a poor road surface. Cosmetically, the bodywork is straight apart from a couple of tiny dents, but the paint has been touched up at some point over the years and in certain light/ from certain angles you can see the variation. It's not bad, as you can see in the pictures, but part of the bonnet is a bit cloudy, the boot lid has been resprayed and there's a visible blend line on the C pillar on the driver's side. At some point the passenger side has been keyed, leaving a scratch (which has been touched up) on the rear edge of the rear door/ front of the rear wing. Overall the car is in much better condition most cars half its age, but it would be wrong not to point out the blemishes. There are also various minuscule marks/ scratches if you look really closely. I suspect most of the above could be sorted out with a machine polisher, but I haven't tried that in case I make it worse. I have tried to capture the car's appearance faithfully in the photos and I am happy to take more or answer questions if you like.
The recent MOT fail was disappointing because it had a clean bill of health only 12 months earlier and I hadn't previously encountered a sill which was fine on the outside but seriously corroded on the inside. However, all the issues have been fixed bar the numberplate light which works intermittently but didn't on the day of the test.
In summary, the car is ready to be used and enjoyed straight away, it's mechanically sound and perfectly presentable. However, the paint will need a little bit of TLC before it wins Best In Show!
