Service History
I am the second owner of this car. It was purchased by me 9 years ago from the first owner. It has a full-service record, mostly being serviced at Lexus Ipswich to 60, 427 miles. Then independent garages. All original manuals and paperwork.
The cambelt was replaced at approximately 35, 700 miles.
In July 2018 it had Front Discs and Pads replaced.
In February 2021 – New parking brake assembly and Rear Brake Discs and Pads.
The car has parking sensors and sheepskin rugs as extra accessories from new. The toolkit, jack, and spare wheel have hardly been used. Full original tool kit. The spare wheel has only been used to swap tyres – it is in as new condition.
As far as I am aware everything electrical is working perfectly. It has recently had a new 12v battery. Two keys, however central locking only works on the key not the remote. The car is original having had no modifications. The car has been a joy to own, being very reliable. This is a genuine sale, as a change of need means I have bought another car - as a shared family car. The LS 400 will hardly be used and it is a car that really needs to be driven and enjoyed. The ride and smoothness is the best feature I like about the car. The petrol consumption on a long run is near to 30 mpg. Obviously around town that drops. That is really the only slightly negative part of the car. Finding good examples of the LS 400 is becoming harder. It is a classic that is an easy everyday driver. The quality is superb, these cars were over-engineered by Toyota. I have the original bill of sale from March 1998. I would have no hesitation of driving her to the South of France tomorrow. I believe I have priced the car to sell. I would still like to keep her but common sense (and the wife!) maintains we have one car too many - I hope you feel my pain!
