In 1909 Wolseley-Siddeley produced a 14HP 4 Cylinder car car that featured drive via cone clutch and a 3 speed gearbox. The company produced their own body work, with the side entrance rear tonneau as show here, being the most popular. The company was backed by the enormous resources of Vickers & Sons and Maxim, meaning Wolseley-Siddeley were manufactured to an exceptional standard.
The example offer here, is first recognised in ‘the register of motor cars 1909’ as being sold to a Mr G. A. White of 22 High Street, Chippenham in July 1909 by Wolseley agents Skurrays of Swindon. The next keeper was Edward Elliot from Salisbury in 1920. The car then made its way to Australia and was discovered in 1977, photos of this are shown in the history file. The car is thought to have been heavily restored in the 1980s. It was sold at auction in 2009 and passed to the current keeper in 2016 who is only selling due to a downsizing collection.
This fantastically useable Edwardian has been used on countless VCC events over the last few years and 3 Irish main events. The car has also been toured extensively throughout France. The car has been serviced frequently during its current ownership to ensure it is kept in excellent running order.
