Description
Road going modified for hill climbing/ sprinting. Engine mildly up-rated on the turbo(hybrid unit) with variable boost control and fifth injector. Engine was rebuilt about 3000 miles ago with balanced components and silicone hoses, intercooler added. Recent (last year) new exhaust manifold (free flow) fitted.
MSA spec roll bar, soft top and hard top. Original roll bar available and fuel tank (new fuel tank fitted with MSA bar).
2 sets of wheels with tyres (Toyo) and spare alloy wheels.
Suspension is coil-overs all round with adjustable shocks, up-rated vented discs on front, cosworth LSD(Sierra).
Currently on SORN, used competively last year and kept in road going trim - owner getting too old!
MoT ran out in MARCH 2024, should be no problem renewing.
Great fun car and reliable (nissan engine).
Spare engine and gearbox taken from a competition car(another SS1) with upgrades (unknown besides large turbo), in working order when removed from car.
This car is one with a galvanized chassis which is in excellent order, bodywork still looking good after 35 years - did have a quality re-spray 20 years ago. I purchased this car 16 years ago from a Reliant Owners Club member, originally just as a fun driver but then set up for competition. Excellent handling vehicle with reliable upgrades that has been used on the road.
