I have for sale my much treasured Dolomite 1500HL Auto.
( Whinnie White the Dolomite ) She was first registered on 13. 06. 1980 only a few months before the last Dolomites rolled off the production line in August. She comes with a webasto sun roof and spitfire wheels as standard fit, probably thrown on by triumph to encourage sales of the last few vehicles.
The car was originally bought for my then wife in 1999 and we set about restoring her, having a professionally resprayed and replacing many parts. She was used regularly and taken to several shows in the south of England.
In 2006 I acquired the vehicle from my now ex wife when I moved to Yorkshire. Unfortunately all the paperwork prior to this has been lost or misplaced.
Since the move North, 18 years ago, she has only covered 5340 miles. For the first 15 years she was garaged at home and rarely driven, but, every so often the urge to put her back on the road made sure she had a full service and overhaul, which I have all the documentation for.
I also have all the MOT certificate's from 1995 until 2007 and then the MOT documentation from 2011, 2013 and 2015 and a big overhaul in 2017, replacing tyres, starter motor and all fluids plus a full carburettor tune. She was then re garaged until 2021 and had another comprehensive service and a respray to the o/ s and front panels.
I have also undertaken much work on the vehicle myself to keep her in her present excellent condition.
I moved properties in 2021 and paid to keep her garaged locally until 6 months ago when I brought her home and kept her covered on the drive.
I have never driven her in the winter and she has very rarely seen rain. Overall, she is a great example of an original Dolomite who has been carefully looked after, well maintained , cleaned and polished and loved. JUST A FEW BAD POINTS.
The webasto sunroof needs re stitching, but apart from this is in very good condition.
When the vehicle has warmed up and you are slowing down she often misses out 2nd gear on the automatic box and clunks into 1st. She has done this since I acquired her 25 years ago for my wife. I just slip her into 2nd gear manually so she never does it .
I can guarantee whom buys her will have lots of pleasure and she will turn some heads.
There are very few Dolomites still around in this original condition and I would prefer her new owner would be able to keep her garaged, thus prolonging her already long life. Thank you.
