Description
1974 MGB Roadster "TOF558N"
British Leyland Demonstrator for Press department. The actual car tested by Autocar and featured in the April 1975 Auto car magazine. Rare colour of Aconite and the fourth rubber bumper model to come off the production line, making it as far as I know the earliest surviving rubber bumper model to exist.
Needs full restoration, and currently not running, and partially disassembled but totally complete. It is generally quite solid, but will require some welding. I was told it was running well and roadworthy when restoration was started in 2020. Sadly nether the previous owner or myself have had the time to continue and space is now needed. Would make a straightforward project and well worth the effort given it's very interesting history. Comes with the Auto Car magazine in which it was featured and heritage certificate varifying it's history as a press demonstrator, and a current V5C in my name £2500 Ono. Car is located on the Isle of Wight so please take that into consideration. I can help with viewing and transportation if necessary. Call Alan the details below
