Description
Rover 75 Connoisseur 2. 5 V6 Petrol / LPG Automatic (Ex Mayor of London Car) in Raven Black.
This is the rare Vanden Plas/ LWB Limousine Rover 75 which is one of only 75 made. It has been in my ownership for 6 years and have spent a great deal of money of this car which has wanted for nothing.
It has a service file showing all work which it has had in my care and other paperwork from it's ownership with Westminster County Council. It had it's cambelts changed at 49000 miles and these were checked a year ago and found to be in still new condition.
For a 21 year old car this is in immaculate condition and is commensurate with it's years. It's not brand new but it would be hard to find one as good as this. It has also been used for weddings and funerals on a couple of occasions.
It has brand new tyres and all the alloys have been professionally refurbished. it has also had brand new Xenon headlamps fitted.
It has been completely checked over by a professional Rover 75 mechanic who completed a thorough inspection and serviced the car. I have a huge pile of invoices of all repairs and servicing since I've owned this vehicle.
It's registration is unique with LJ03 WCC (Westminster County Council) and was purchased from F. J Keen's of Battersea, London.
A rare and collectible car and only selling due to ill health other wise I'd be keeping it.
I am the third owner of the vehicle. MOT until November 2025 with no advisories. Comes with 2 delux car covers and 4 mint meteor wheels.
The only other one I have seen on this site for sale is up for £35000!This particular car was first registered to the Mayor for the City of London in 2003 and belonged to the Westminster City Council for 11 years until 2014 when it went into private ownership with a Rover enthusiast in Estonia for 3 years until it was brought back to the UK when I bought this from a Rover/ MG dealer in Dudley. The number plate is unique and was ordered especially reflecting that the car was not only registered in London but also had the council’s initials on the number plate of WCC. It also had a factory fitted LPG tank when new which meant the car could be either driven on its super smooth 2. 5 V6 petrol engine or use LPG. The car can automatically switch from LPG to petrol so has dual fuel capability. I mainly run the car on petrol as and don’t use the LPG very often as more convenient to run it on petrol.
Not many of these LWB (Long wheelbase) Limousines survive and were only made for a short period of time by Rover and were also known as the 75 Vanden Plas. This was a name synonymous with British Motoring heritage and associated with being elite in the production of its cars. The car’s coachwork is finished in Raven Black with a special Royal Burgundy leather interior fitted when new and has all the refinements of the Rover 75 Connoisseur range, which meant it had every optional extra fitted.
It’s a beautiful car and turns heads wherever it goes. Very reluctant sale and certainly will become collectible in the future.
