Description
This Speedtwin is in amazing condition both cosmetically and mechanically. The auto advance/ retard mechanism works perfectly making It is very easy to start requiring very little effort. I have serviced the bike regularly with annual oil changes and I have fitted a morgo oil pump. Other than the servicing it hasnt required any further work. The chrome is in excellent condition as is the paintwork. It has the original Triumph embossed hand pump which i believe is quite rare. It also has the original brass map light on the tank cluster. A simple design that is very easy to maintain and ride. This Triumph Speed twin was manufactured in January 1947. A tele-rigid design, it has benefit of telescopic front forks. It also has the pre-nacelle king of the road headlight and pre-rear sprung hub rear axle which makes working on the rear lighter and much easier. It has had 4 previous owners with the third owner acquiring the bike in 1965 and keeping for over 50 years. A comprehensive restoration in 2013 was covered in the classic bike magazine following which the bike was entered in the classic bike of the year Carole Nash MCN London motorcycle show. I purchased the bike a few years later and have had 5 faultless years of riding where i have covered around 2000 miles.
