Description
Having owned and loved three Ford Pumas in my youth I jumped at the chance to buy this car in 2022! First registered in 1999, it was subsequently exported to Ireland before returning to England in January 2003, where it remained with the same owner until I purchased it.
I was sold the car on the basis that the mileage of 17, 000 is correct. This is backed up by its MOT history, but sadly there is only one service stamp at 12, 000 miles in February 2003. As you will see from the car’s MOT history record, it was effectively unused from 2019 onwards and before that was only covering a couple of hundred miles a year.
Since purchase we have carried out various repairs to the car, including:
Full service (oil and filter change, new air filter, spark plugs, fuel filter and rear wiper blade)
New front brake discs and pads
New coil pack
New fuel pump
New battery
It is now running and driving very well, as you would expect for such a lightly used car, and has passed two MOTs in my ownership. The car was dry stored by me from October 2022 until April 2024 and despite standing for such a long time, once the battery was replaced, it started up straight away!
The car is very presentable, appears original and is rust free, but please be aware that it has suffered sun damage to the paintwork on the flat surfaces where it has sat for long periods of time. The worst affected area is the bonnet, but there is also deterioration to the roof, the top of the tailgate, b and c pillars. I have tried to photograph this, but being a silver car this has not been easy! Viewing is recommended so that interested parties can satisfy themselves.
There is also a crease on the nearside quarter panel (photographed) and the rear bumper is scuffed in several places (photographed). There is none of the usual rust in the rear wheel arches or sills, as you will see from the underside photos.
The interior is excellent, with the seats, steering wheel and pedals all bearing out the mileage. The original stereo and gear knob are present.
Due to the unexpected loss of my lock up garage I am reluctantly selling this car, which otherwise I would have kept. I have not touched the bodywork beyond cleaning it, as I decided to preserve its originality rather than go for perfection. However, there are lots of options for the new owner to put their own mark on it, perhaps by repainting or wrapping the car to suit their taste. The car has been frequently admired since I've owned it for its overall bright appearance.
Due to the paintwork issues, I will not enter into any negotiations without the buyer coming to assess the car first. The car is located in Watford, Hertfordshire. I have the current V5, which will need to be completed in the new owner’s name prior to collection (ID will be required). Cash on collection is preferred. Please be aware, this vehicle is NOT ULEZ COMPLIANT.
