Description
Jaguar Mk 2 3. 8 Manual Overdrive. Must be one of the best currently for sale. This is an unusually original 1964 3. 8 litre model still with its Moss gearbox. Moss gearboxes vary considerably but being a low mileage car, this one is very rewarding to use. Opalescent Golden Sand with a Tan leather interior with a perfect level of patina. In excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition. Excellent paint finish and panel fit. Not equipped with the usual vague and lifeless over-assisted power steering (the steering box and other components are in top condition so the steering is sharp and accurate and not heavy to manoeuvre - even in a tight space). Rare optional reclining front seats. Just over 60000 miles (old MOTs going back to 1985 suggest that this is accurate) so it drives like a Mk2 3. 8 would have done when they were new in the 1960s.. Excellent oil pressure and a smooth, quiet, smoke and leak free engine.
Recent work:
2024: Four new tyres, handbrake, gearbox mount, service (oil change etc).
2023: timing chain tensioner, horns, headlamps, wipers, clutch slave cylinder, rear Brake cylinders, pads and master cylinder service (oil change etc).
2022: new clutch, brake callipers, front brake pads and cylinders, respray.
2021: new fuel pump. new fuel tank: electronic ignition
The car can be seen in Cowley Peachey near Uxbridge. This is the most original Mk2 3. 8 on the market. It's in beautiful condition throughout.
