Born on February 28, 1961, this TR3 now stands beautifully displayed at HooG Selections. Since its arrival in the Netherlands, this stunning Triumph has been cherished by three proud owners, each enjoying its unmatched charm over the years. The first owner held onto the Triumph for 19 years. It's the "facelift" TR3, namely the TR3A with the wider grille (also known as the dollar grin).
The first adventure in the Netherlands began over 29 years ago, and the love for this Triumph has only grown since. Its body shines in a seductive red color, complemented by an elegant black faux leather interior. The story and history of this breathtaking car await patiently in our showroom in Katwijk to be discovered, and we warmly invite you to witness this treasure with your own eyes.
Driving the Triumph TR3
Imagine... You take the wheel of this left-hand drive Triumph TR3, its engine completely overhauled. Think timing chain, oil pump, crankshaft bearings, new forged pistons, cylinder head skimmed, crankshaft reconditioned and ground, etc. Everything ensuring you can drive long and carefree is in top condition with this TR3. Various parts around the car have also been replaced, such as new rear brake shoes, starter motor, brake/ clutch cylinders, gearbox/ differential seals, etc. All documented work on this TR3 cost nearly €19, 000 at the time (performed on 28-04-2017).
The new electric cooling fan and aluminum radiator ensure optimal performance, even during the most passionate rides. The 4-cylinder engine, paired with a smooth 4-speed gearbox, delivers ample power to glide over the road with style and grace.
