2009 Audi TT RS 2. 5 TFSI Quattro Manual New Service + 12 Months MOT
110k Miles, Stacks of Service History, MRC Tuned Stage 2 remap 436bhp, ULEZ Free, Sepang Blue, MOT 25/ 06/ 25
Here we have my 2009 manual Audi TT RS, which has been a joy to own and is sure to put a smile on the face of whoever buys it.
The mileage is currently 110, 438 miles but will increase slightly as it’s still in use. I have just had a service done and a fresh MOT put on the car, which is valid until 25th June 2025. I have also just had two brand new sport cats fitted at a cost of £1, 000 so the car has no de-cat emissions drama. I have only ever used 99 octane fuel and the car drives beautifully with no unwanted knocks or rattles while delivering a super smooth manual gearbox, and extremely effective Brembo brakes.
This TT RS comes with stacks of service history, including many upgrades and £000s spent on both general upkeep and performance by tuning specialists MRC, turning out 436bhp – it is seriously rapid and sounds incredible without being over the top.
Here is a brief of its service history:
• 04/ 06/ 24 – minor service
• 26/ 06/ 23 – major service (including new front brake discs and new brake pads all round, new battery, new Bose amp, and fuel gauge calibration)
• 05/ 01/ 21 – minor service
• 19/ 11/ 20 – major service (including brake pads and brakeline SS kit)
• 05/ 20 – essential service (including carbon intake clean)
• 12/ 19 – essential service (including carbon intake clean)
• 12/ 18 – essential service (including carbon intake clean and front disc skim)
• 05/ 18 – essential service (including carbon intake clean)
• 12/ 17 – essential service (including carbon intake clean)
• 22/ 04/ 17 – major service (including carbon intake clean and spark plugs)
• 12/ 16 – essential service (including carbon intake clean)
• 08/ 07/ 16 – minor service (including rear discs and pads all round)
• 06/ 16 – essential service (including carbon intake clean)
During this time, the car has had a number of improvements, including the following:
• Two new sports cats fitted (11/ 06/ 24)
• Air Con re-gas (11/ 07/ 23)* see below
• New clutch (19/ 03/ 2018)
• MRC Tuned ECU and TCU remap (25/ 11/ 2017) and remap tweak (15/ 06/ 2018)
• Rear valance and stainless steel oval steel pipes for rear exhausts (10/ 07/ 2017)
• Remap and Revo air intake fitted (28/ 10/ 2016)
• Rear tinted windows (23/ 07/ 2016)
• New fuel pump, gasket, turbo valve (05/ 07/ 2016)
Exterior
This TT RS comes in the most sought-after colour combination of Sepang Blue with Silver wingmirrors. There are a few minor marks commensurate with the car’s age, but no dents or scratches and the bodywork shines up beautifully after a clean and polish. The car has also been fitted with a rear bodykit that really adds to the TT’s presence with an added rear valance and two chrome exhaust tips. As is the way, two of the 19” Rotor Alloys are in decent condition but the other two would benefit from a refurb. Overall, it’s a gorgeous-looking car and a real head turner.
Interior
The interior is in very good condition for its age with no rips or tears. There is slight wear on the side of the driver's seat but it’s minimal. The leather seats offer a superb combination of comfort and support, even when doing long journeys. The front two also heat up swiftly, which is very important on chilly mornings! The interior will also come with a valet to ensure it’s clean and sporting a good shine for the buyer.
Two points to note:
Although the Audi infotainment system (including radio, Bluetooth, Satnav, etc.), works fine, the Bose speakers will need rewiring. A new Bose amp was fitted in June 2023 and occasionally they play fine, but often they don’t. It hasn’t tended to bother me as I prefer to listen to the engine or my phone when driving, but if you’re keen on using the infotainment, then rewiring will need to be done.
Although the interior fan blows fine, a new A/ C compressor is also required. In July last year I had the car re-gassed (so it’s currently full), but after the re-gas I was informed that a new a/ c compressor was needed. I said to go ahead and fit a new one but the supplier sent the wrong item and I haven’t been back since. I was quoted £170 for a new compressor plus fitting.
Drive
The TT RS is an absolute joy to drive. The short-shift manual gearbox is sublime and the Brembo brakes are sharp and effective. Where the car really shines is in its inline five 2. 5l turbo-charged engine, which has been upgraded and tuned with an MRC Stage 2 remap, delivering rapid acceleration. The car also comes with 2 keys, a printed copy of the TT RS handbook, and a folder full of service history invoices and receipts.
I’ll be sad to see the TT RS go as it’s been the best car I’ve ever had, not to mention the quickest by far. I’m in the process of moving house and, sadly, the TT will need to go in favour of something more practical. A HPI check shows it has never been stolen or involved in any accident. I've been 100% honest in my description and whoever buys the TT will be getting an absolutely amazing car. Viewings are welcome. First to see / test drive (with insurance) will buy.
