Description

The car for sale, with its original registration plate (Rome) and matching engine number, is in excellent condition. It has covered a distance of only 79, 800 km and in recent months has undergone a major overhaul at a workshop specialising in historic cars. This included replacement of the clutch, gearbox supports and gearbox bell oil seal, replacement of all oil seals and gaskets, replacement of the timing belt and its bearings, replacement of the brake system pipes, water pump and thermostat, radiator and expansion tank with special aluminium models, and replacement of the cooling pipes with new stainless steel ones. The car comes with a Lancia quality fabric car cover and various spare parts (new and used) that are not easy to find such as:
1 Pair of new Altissimo brand front position/ direction indicators 1 Pair of used Altissimo brand transparent plastics 1 New fuel pump 2 New brake fluid reservoirs 4 New engine valves 1 Motor complete with 2 rotors/ fan 1 Pair of gaskets for side indicator support Carello brand Various gaskets 15 used wheel bolts 1 reconditioned Magneti Marelli alternator 2 wheel hubs 2 wheel hub accessories 1 Pair of caliper holders 1 used clutch master cylinder 1 intake valve control gearbox 1 front inner and rear half-bearing 1 crankshaft 8 pieces 3 Lancia badge shield friezes 2 light switches (1 new and 1 used) 1 used plastic holder 1 ashtray/ cigarette lighter/ buttons 1 used Vitaloni exterior rear-view mirror cap with elastic support for control 1 used car radio cover 2 new brake hoses 1 timing beltThe Lancia Montecarlo was designed by Pininfarina and was the first car completely developed and built in-house at the Pininfarina factory. The bodywork, designed by Paolo Martin, is original and fascinating, with a long nose and truncated tail reminiscent of the Ferrari BB. The car has a transverse mid-rear engine, an unusual configuration for the time, the positioning of the engine contributed to optimal weight distribution and superior handling; so much so that on the same chassis the Turbo and Rally 037 were also developed with much greater power. The total production of the model on sale (Spider) was only 817 examples, of which 253 were right-hand drive.
