THE CAR
Alpinweiss over Pacific Blue, M10 engine with Weber carb upgrade, automatic transmission, 14-inch factory steel wheels (with correct BMW stamps, centre caps w/ new emblems and plastic hubcaps), new Michelin Cross Climate tires, original Blaupunkt Melbourne cassette stereo, manual lock doors/ windows/ sunroof, four-spoke steering wheel, original floor mats, partial BMW toolkit and original dealership documentation w/ service stamps/ paperwork.
EXTERIOR
Gorgeous chrome bumper E30. Body is very straight and presents well with some very light touch ups in paintwork over the years. The car is all original and unrestored and has never had a full body respray. All panels are straight and true with no signs of accident damage. Original chrome and rubber bumper strips look good. Driver's side third of rear bumper could use a new chrome strip which can be purchased on Ebay. All windows are BMW stamped from factory. Sunroof and door seals are still soft and water-tight. New OEM spec BOSCH wiper blades fitted in last six months.
INTERIOR
Superb condition of seats and carpets. Usual wear on driver's seat bolster and slight fraying on driver's seat. Passenger seat, rear seats and seatbelts are intact. All seats recline and adjust perfectly. Door cards and interior trim is immaculate. Very small 2. 5-inch sun damage crack on dashboard. All buttons and switches are tight with satisfying click sound. Headlining is tight and blemish free with no rips or stains.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
M10 4-cylinder automatic engine runs great and ideal for daily use that keeps up with modern traffic. 1. 6L engine is super-smooth and modest 90hp is a pleasure to drive. Engine bay is original with a several new stainless steel clamps, BMW rubber hoses, BMW gaskets and OEM parts throughout during it's 2023 engine refresh. Battery is a year old, fresh LiquiMoly oil and BMW blue coolant added within the last 6 months. New BMW OEM fuel pump and BMW radiator fitted in past 3 months to great expense.
WHEELS, TIRES AND BRAKES
Original 14" steelies are in good shape and wrapped in matching new Michelin Cross Climate tires. Comes with full size spare also on BMW steel rim. Brakes are great with plenty of life on pads.
SUSPENSION
Car currently sits on original suspension and it's the one area that would benefit from a refresh. All new Bilstein shocks, Eibach springs, Lemforder strut mounts/ arms and OEM BMW rubber bushings have already been purchased and are INCLUDED with sale. I haven't yet installed these but all items have been fitment-verified with BMW as OEM and will be well worth it when installed for a classic stock look and feel.
HISTORY
Car was originally purchased at Henry Bros BMW dealership in Glasgow, Scotland. Spent most of it's life in Preston, followed by Wigan then Liverpool - until I purchased it and brought to the West Midlands in 2023. I am the fifth owner (The fourth owner merely bought the car and resold to me without driving it). Large history file of registration docs, past MOT certificates, past repairs/ servicing/ parts invoices. Possibly one of the cleanest E30 316's out there.
The base entry-level "poor man's" spec is now highly desirable and provides the purest driving experience.
Certainly a collectable to the right buyer who will appreciate the combination of German solidity with analogue simplicity.
Always a UK car and perfect for a daily driver to Sunday cruiser at it gets loads of attention wherever it goes !!!
