Description
Early 1998 Porsche 911 (996) Carrera 2 being regrettably released from a collection.
3. 4, 6 speed manual in arctic silver with dark grey leather.
996 & PCGB member registered car previously owned my the MD of Sealey Tools.
136k miles and a huge history file with regular servicing by the one and only Autostrasse - making it as fit as a car with half the mileage or less.
Extremely rewarding example; tight, responsive & very grippy Porsche with 300 BHP, 0-62 mph in 5. 2 seconds.
Comes with all the books, 2 keys, original Sony CD with frunk changer/ amp, digital climate/ AC, electric windows/ sunroof/ mirrors, cruise control, Pirelli P Zeros on original Twists all round, ferrous coated pistons, cable throttle with the tougher IMS.
Excellent authentic investment that can be used daily.
Within the stack of service history are 12 years worth of records from the very reputable AUTOSTRASSE and from COLWOOD MOTORSPORT thereafter up until 2021, from which point it hasn’t seen much light of day since.
MOT is until May 2025 with no advisories and the transparent history is generally very good for a car of this age.
It starts on the button, the clutch is fantastic and power is very strong and healthy. It’s a real buzz to drive, has a mix of old and new… old; with the shape and original aroma, new; being tight and very responsive.
There are a couple of negatives but only aesthetics; the passenger side rear quarter and bumper corner has some cloudy fade to it, I have been polishing it to bring back the shine and it’s working but feel that it would benefit from a machine polish or some lacquer adjustment. The sunroof paint is a little tired and the front bumper is similar with some webbing and would ultimately benefit from a repair or re-paint. The drivers door has a few pin dents that are probably a doddle for a mobile dent specialist.
Just don’t have the time to have this corrected due to lack of space, with regret it needs to go and be enjoyed by someone who will give it the love it deserves… maybe being a bit fussy but it wouldn’t take much effort to make it look as good as the rest of the car.
The front number plate is off and a new one has been ordered due to some cracking.
The interior is simply lovely, there are no negatives to report… it’s just a lovely place to be, snug and sporty with just some age related cracking on the front seats, no rips or tears.
This car is healthy, fun and always a pleasure to drive due to being in the hands of the right people within Porsche circles.
As per above; with a few cosmetics ironed out it will make for a decent future investment if taken to the next level on a budget, desirable too being a manual.
Open to sensible offers, silly ones will be ignored as will car companies looking for a quick flip or raffle.
Offers will only be discussed after a highly encouraged test drive or decent telephone conversation.
