Description
This car was complete rebuild by CCHL in spring 2021, the specification was based on CCHL's V8 restomod spec but enhanced with further additions. My bespoke specification is as follows:
• new heritage body shell with a refurb Windscreen frame and quarter lights
• The car is painted in BLVC93 Bracken colour, the body was etched primed before being painted and has been undersealed and the paintwork was fully machine polished and then coated with a high end 5 year guaranteed ceramic coating from Fenlabs applied by Perfect Polish in Shrewsbury
• The engine is a 4ltr cross bolted version of the Rover V8 engine with a 3. 9ltr camshaft helping it rev more freely, built and supplied by Vitesse Global with bespoke exhaust system
• Clive Wheatly MG Rocker covers
• Wilwood front disc brakes and new drums at the rear
• Edelbrock carburettor
• Revotec electric twin fan set up
• MX5 5 speed gear box supplied by Vitesse global
• Front suspension is Moss Europe Dynamic coil over suspension with adjustable Bilstein shocks
• Rear is Frontline Developments 5 link set up
• Poly bushed all round
• Quaiffe Limited Slip Differential
• Frontline Developments front spoiler
• Motolita leather steering wheel
• It has a battery isolator switch behind the drivers seat and is wired for a Ctek battery charger
• New mohair hood and half Tonneau fitted
• New carpet set and boot carpets in Autumn leaf colour
• It had refurbished V8 seats which were fitted with new leather seat covers in Autumn leaf colour
• Two stage electric heated seats
• Electric windows
• Classic car audio DAB radio is fitted
• It sits on 15’ anthracite coloured mini lite style wheels and a set of Avon ZT7 Tyres
• The heater has been upgraded to a new 3kw heater
• I had a set of chrome roll hoops manufactured which I have since removed from the car as it allows for more reward seat travel, these will be supplied if desired. Please note these are for aesthetic reasons only and have not been tested as a safety feature they are not a substitute for a suitable type approved roll barThis is certainly not a purist pull handle MGB Roadster.
What it is, is a restomod MGB which has the performance of a modern 200bhp per tonne car. It has brakes that can deal with the performance. It handles very well with the multilink rear end and the enhanced suspension and LSD enables you to use all of the V8's prodigious power
Which means the performance can be enjoyed and best of all it has a glorious sounding free revving V8 with its bespoke exhaust that sounds more TVR than traditional MGB.
The car has done a little less than 3500 miles (although may change slightly as it is still in use) since the build the car has always been garaged and is stored under a cover. It has not been driven on salted roads and I try to avoid being caught in a shower.
The imperfect bits, there are two small stone chips on the front spoiler and a small mark on the back of the drivers seat approximately the size 5p coin.
