SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD
I purchased and imported the bike in August 2016 from The Netherlands. It was owned for a number of years by a prominent Moto Guzzi Club member who was selling the bike due to ill health.
It has the benefit of the Gillardoni barrels and pistons. This is verified by the Gillardoni name visibly cast into the base, below the bottom cooling fin. The gearbox has been overhauled by Nigel at NBS. This was prompted when the lever return spring failed. So, I thought it would be a good opportunity to have the box rebuilt.
The bike has covered 51, 000 miles (82, 400km). The bike does not smoke or use oil.
I have a file of information and invoices for the bike whilst in my ownership, along with a hand written service log book. There is also other useful literature included in the sale.
Over the last 8 years I have carried out the following tasks, in addition to routine maintenance and replacement of consumable parts.
Removed the rare factory leg shields. These are included separately with the bike.
Fitted new crash bars sourced from Stein-Dinse
Replaced the exhaust downpipes for new Stein Dinse stainless steel versions.
Removed the centre stand to machine and fit replaceable bushings. The stand was then powder coated before re-fitting.
Fitted new tyres, the front one has covered around 500 miles.
Fitted new battery.
Replaced carb springs for the lighter V50 versions.
New rear brake shoes.
The bike is in very good condition and runs beautifully. I use it regularly, including a recent 400 mile mini camping tour around Wales.
If you are looking for a very presentable and original loop-frame Guzzi which is ready to ride I think you would struggle to find a better one at this price.
There is also an original rare Guzzi fairing with the bike, which I was given separately when I bought the bike. I have never fitted the fairing as it needs some minor repairs and brackets.
£6750 or very near offer. The Loop frame Guzzis' are a supremely capable bike. It is easily the most comfortable bike I have owned in 45 years of riding. The 750 engine has bags of torque, which comes in very low down in the rev range.
