Description
1996 Jaguar XJS 4. 0l Celebration convertible with low mileage. LHD model
Sought after British Racing green with Tan convertible top and biscuit interior.
Purchased in 2015 when I was living in Texas USA. History of car was that it was located in California and Arizona from new and later (2013) was relocated to Austin Texas. Car has been well maintained with a good history file for it's last years in USA. This car was my daily driver for approx. 2 years when I was in the USA.
I relocated back to the UK in 2018 and imported the car with me, having it registered in the UK and fitting UK required side indicators.
Car was driven very lightly until 2021 when I relocated to New Zealand. Since then, car has been in dry storage. Car is now for sale as I have permanantly relocated. Car is now located with a friend who will manage any viewings/ sale. When I bought the car in 2015, it had a decent history file for a US car (most cars in the US seem to lack that). It had obviously been well cared for and ran extremey well. I used it as my daily driver for 2 years whilst in the US. It was such an nice example (virtually new underneath) that I brought it home to the UK in 2018 at significant expense.
I primarily dry stored the car when in the UK, only driving on dry days. I also self serviced that car and in 2021 I replaced the cam cover gasket and replaced the coils and spark plugs as well as a number of other maintenance items (all accessory belts and heater valve). Car went into dry strorage in 2021 when I relocated to New Zealand and has just been brought out of storage and has a brand new MOT and a recommissioning service including brake overhaul. Wheels recently refurbished.
This is a lovely example of the last of the line (1996) Jaguar XJS celebration convertibles. Definitely an appreciating classic, but still a realistic drivable car that you can enjoy. Having lived in the USA (southern states) for the majority of it's life, this XJS has absolutely no rust and looks practically new underneath. The only reason I'm selling is that I moved permenantly to New Zealand and unfortunately it isn't practicable to export her. New low fixed price.... no offers
